70 years of marriage - Hilde and Fritz Rietsch
Congratulations on your special wedding anniversary on 10 July 2013
On Wednesday, 10 July 2013, Hilde and Fritz Rietsch from Chemnitz celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary, their so-called "marriage of grace". Among the well-wishers at the couple's home at Ludwig-Kühn-Straße 19 in 09123 Chemnitz will be the City of Chemnitz: Andreas Liese from the Mayor's Office will offer his congratulations to the couple on 10 July at 10 am.
The couple got to know each other at a dance in Jahnsdorf and it became a love for life. Although the circumstances at the time were anything but rosy: Fritz Rietsch was drafted into the Wehrmacht when he was just 19 years old. They sealed their love with their wedding in 1943, knowing full well that they still had difficult years ahead of them. Fritz Rietsch took part in the battles for Stalingrad and returned home from Russian captivity in 1948. Now it was time for a new start - for him at VEB Barkas, for her in the textile industry. Their son Hans-Jürgen, who was born in August 1949, crowned their happiness. Looking back today, they say that they experienced many wonderful years together, mainly because they always stuck together. They actively organised their free time with hikes and trips, which they remember fondly today.
Their home is now the centre of their lives and they hope to stay in their own four walls for as long as possible. Their son supports them to the best of his ability and looks after his parents every day.
He will not be alone on 10 July: the whole family, including two granddaughters and two great-grandchildren, are expected to celebrate the anniversary at the couple's home.
