70 years of marriage - Henni and Franz Abendowitz
Congratulations on your special wedding anniversary on 23 May
On Tuesday, 23 May 2017, Henni and Franz Abendowitz from Chemnitz will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary, their so-called "marriage of grace". The City of Chemnitz will also be among the well-wishers: a representative of the Mayor's Office will bring congratulations to the couple on 23 May at 3 p.m. in the retirement home at Johannes-Dick-Straße 6, 09123 Chemnitz.
Henni Abendowitz, née Schulz, and Franz Abendowitz, a trained saddler and upholsterer, tied the knot in 1947 and raised their three children together. They both worked: he had many years of responsibility in the agricultural, forestry and food goods sector in Karl-Marx-Stadt. She worked as a shop assistant, including in a small fruit and vegetable shop on Bernsbachplatz.
The family now has four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Both jubilarians are in need of care and are increasingly dependent on support to cope with everyday life. For this reason, Franz Abendowitz recently moved to the "Willy-Brandt-Haus" care home for the elderly, where his care is guaranteed. His wife would also like to join him there as soon as a room becomes available. Henni Abendowitz currently still lives in the flat the couple share on Bernsdorfer Straße and receives extensive help from her son in all areas of life. Together they visit Franz Abendowitz as often as possible.
The couple are celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary with a small family circle.
