On Thursday, 11 November, the Spinnerei e.V. made a generous donation to the Dream Concert organisers and promoters, the City of Chemnitz and the Bürgerstiftung für Chemnitz, at a ceremony held at the municipal music school. The sum of 2,500 euros came from the entrance fees for this year's Fête de la Musique and was topped up by members of the organisation.

"You don't have to be able to read lyrics, see or touch sheet music or instruments or hear rhythm to make dreamlike music." This is the slogan under which the Chemnitz Dream Concert has been performed every two years in the Stadthalle since November 2011. The audience experiences a special evening of music by young artists with and without disabilities from Chemnitz and the surrounding area with representatives of the Robert Schumann Philharmonic Orchestra.

On Monday, 15 November, the 6th Dream Concert was to celebrate the tenth anniversary. Due to the coronavirus situation, this concert has now been postponed by one year to 21 November 2022.

"Many thanks to 'die Spinnerei' and all the visitors to this summer music festival. You have not forgotten us. What a pleasure! Our sixth dream concert is now planned for next year - we will put the cheque to good use and do our best. Here's to a healthy reunion!" said Petra Liebetrau, Disability Officer for the City of Chemnitz.
