5th Stefan Heym Talk
The 5th Stefan Heym Talk, on Tuesday, 18 October 2016, 7 pm, at Villa Esche, will focus on the Sachs factory owner's villa. The author and publisher Volker Dittrich will describe the history of the house at Parkstraße 9 based on its changing residents.
The most diverse fates are closely linked to the house. Dittrich reads from his book and talks to Lars Fassmann, CEO of chemmedia AG, whose company is located directly opposite Villa Esche in the former Kohorn factory owner's villa, about the houses on Parkstrasse then and now.
The Jewish factory owner Walther Sachs had the factory owner's villa built in 1928 in the Bauhaus style for his family. After they fled in 1934, many people lived in the modern building and considered it "theirs".
A joint event organised by Villa Esche/GGG and the International Stefan Heym Society.
Admission to the event costs 8 euros per person (concessions 5 euros).
