4th Chemnitz Freeathlon
Hands-on festival for children, young people and families at the castle pond
The fourth "Chemnitz Freeathlon" will take place next Friday, 7 July, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the Uferpark am Schloßteich. Children, young people, families and other interested parties will have the opportunity to try their hand at various sporting and creative activities. They gain an insight into the variety of different indoor and outdoor activities on offer and can take part without any pressure to perform. The focus is on having fun being active, promoting team spirit and, above all, boosting the participants' self-esteem. Participation is free of charge.
Many exciting activities and sports await the participants: such as skating on a mini ramp, slackline, archery, climbing on an artificial climbing rock, football, volleyball or basketball, American football with kit, baseball and softball, mini golf, ultimate frisbee, table tennis, target fishing and dancing to a jukebox. There will also be creative activities such as designing T-shirts and shopping bags, drumming, crocheting and knitting, designing friendship bracelets and taking friendship photos. There will also be a stage programme with "Kunos Kinderkiste" and three different bands. Musicians and DJs will also be demonstrating their skills.
Catering will of course be provided: there will be non-alcoholic cocktails, fruit skewers, delicious soups and sausages.
The project is organised and supported by the Office for Youth and Family of the City of Chemnitz and the working groups "Girls and Young Women" and "Boys", the Network for Cultural and Youth Work e. V.
