3rd integration fair in Chemnitz

The city's social welfare office, together with DC DuvierConsult GmbH and other partners, is inviting people to the 3rd integration fair in Chemnitz on Wednesday, 14 May from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the foyer of the TIETZ building. As in the first two editions in 2012 and 2013, the fair is once again aimed at citizens from Chemnitz and the surrounding area who do not have their roots in Germany and are looking for access to the labour market. In addition to migrants, foreign students will also be targeted this time. Companies with a need for skilled labour will also have the opportunity to make contact with the players at the fair and representatives of the working group - further education providers, chambers of commerce, the employment agency, authorities and the university - and above all with potential skilled workers.
"With its wide range of information, the integration fair is an important offer for citizens who have come to Chemnitz from other countries and other cultures and want to establish their centre of life here. With the integration fair, we would like to show prospects for professional re-entry. As organisers, we are very pleased that we can now present the third edition of the fair after the first two very successful fairs in 2012 and 2013," explains Cornelia Utech, acting head of the city's social services department and head of the Welcome Culture project in Chemnitz. The organisation of the fair is supported by the Free State of Saxony, DC DuvierConsult GmbH and the City of Chemnitz.

The fair takes place in the foyer of the TIETZ building and offers advice from companies, authorities, educational service providers and associations as well as the opportunity to find out about the application process in Germany. As last year, interpreters for the native languages most frequently spoken by migrants will be on hand to help with communication. In addition to companies, chambers, language course providers and integration associations, the Job Centre, the Chemnitz Employment Agency and Chemnitz University of Technology are also involved in the fair; information will also be provided on the topics of residence law and work permits.
The programme of the fair also includes a specialist lecture on the employment of foreign skilled workers. The speaker will be Prof. Dr Dagmar Gesmann-Nuissl, Professor of Private Law and Intellectual Property Law at Chemnitz University of Technology. The lecture will take place from 12 noon to 1 p.m. in room 4.07 of the TIETZ building.
