Last Sunday evening, the 34th Chemnitz Regional Competition "Jugend musiziert" came to an end with the announcement of the final results at the Annaberg Music School, Schwarzenberg Castle, Chemnitz Municipal Music School and Flöha Music School.
Last weekend, young musicians performed in the categories string instruments, solo; vocal duo, accordion, solo; plucked string ensemble; vocals, pop; duo: piano and a woodwind instrument and piano chamber music at the 34th regional "Jugend musiziert" competition. The Early Music Ensemble and Percussion/Mallets competitions have already taken place in other regions of Saxony. The juries were impressed by the confident performances of all participants.
The youngest musicians all won a 1st prize, but can only qualify at state level at the age of ten. Anna Stöß, recorder, and Friederike Glanz, piano, from Chemnitz achieved outstanding results in the duo category: piano and a woodwind instrument.
Of the 93 participants in total, 48 pupils made it through to the 2025 state competition in Chemnitz.
Nine pupils qualified for the state competition in the solo string instruments category. Noah Windsheimer from Chemnitz achieved the highest score of 25.
In the solo accordion category, eight students made it through to the state competition: Timea Krahl from Freiberg, Jolanda Otto from Halsbrücke and Augustine Soléy Tittmann from Annaberg-Buchholz each scored 25 points.
In the vocal category (pop), four young singers qualified for the state competition, including Katja Burghart from Chemnitz, who scored full marks.
In the vocal duo category, one duo qualified for the state competition.
In the plucked string ensemble category, four ensembles (ten participants) qualified for the state competition.
In the duo category: piano and a brass instrument, two duos (four participants) qualified for the state competition. Clara Stöß, horn, and Jakob Stöß, piano, from Chemnitz achieved 25 points.
In the duo category: piano and a woodwind instrument, four duos (eight participants) qualified for the state competition. Richard Ruzicka, bassoon, and his piano partner, Maximilian Dambor, both from Chemnitz, achieved full marks.
One trio qualified for the state competition in the piano chamber music category.
This piano trio with Sophie Zidar, Benjamin Müller and Raphael Zidar from Chemnitz achieved 25 points.
Margot Berthold, jury member in the vocal category (pop), said after the competition: "I was impressed by the incredibly high standard that was on offer given the age of the students. The morning was a great experience!"
