2nd online dialogue on the city centre framework plan begins
Chemnitz residents are called upon to help shape the city
The City Planning Office invites all Chemnitz residents to take part in the 2nd online dialogue on the city centre framework plan on the City of Chemnitz's citizen participation portal at https://mitdenken.sachsen.de/1043920 until 13 September. In this online format, Chemnitz residents have the opportunity to actively participate in the discussion and evaluation of concrete, implementation-oriented measures of the new urban development framework plan for Chemnitz city centre.
The measures are the result of the previous public participation formats (e.g. citizens' dialogue and market of ideas) as well as the numerous discussions with stakeholders and experts. These ideas and suggestions have made a significant contribution to drawing up and further developing the catalogue of measures. It is important to think about the city centre from different perspectives: in addition to the typical city centre functions of shopping, gastronomy and living, the traffic, structural, climatic and open space aspects must also be considered. The aim is to create a lively and attractive city centre for everyone.
The interactive map dialogue can be used to view the collected proposals, share thoughts and suggestions, comment on them or even propose further measures. The aim is to further refine the measures through joint discussion and, if necessary, to adapt and prioritise them. The further development of the city centre is a 10 to 15-year process that must be implemented step by step.

Background:
With the city centre framework plan, the city planning office is developing an action plan for the city centre of Chemnitz by the end of 2024. The framework plan is being drawn up in a cooperative process together with the specialist departments of the administration, stakeholders from urban society and politicians. The action area concept will contain objectives, implementation strategies and proposed measures for the future-oriented development of the city centre. The concept is intended to cover all important areas of the city centre and serve as a guide for the coming years.
