2nd Marketplace Culture & School on 30 August
Call to schools and culture: Winning together (with) culture Registration until 23 August
Following the successful start last year, Chemnitz educators, artists and representatives of cultural institutions and associations are once again invited to take part in the 2nd Culture & School Marketplace on 30 August 2016, from 3 to 5 pm, in the event hall of the TIETZ, (3rd floor), Moritzstraße 20, 09111 Chemnitz.
The aim of the event is to connect Chemnitz schools and culture and thus create new cultural education partnerships. The focus is not only on the realisation of a joint project, but also on the professional exchange and consideration of ideas and available resources, such as equipment, materials, premises, etc.
Lecturer and actor Michael-Paul Milow will moderate the event.
In the first part of the marketplace, the participants get to know each other in a relaxed atmosphere of cultural speed dating. They can get an overview of which participants are interested in which cultural education projects. In the second half, the teachers can then return to those cultural providers with whom they can imagine a co-operation or with whom they would like to discuss their own ideas.
In order to start a collaboration right away, school-culture teams can have their project idea "notarised" by cultural notaries directly on site. With this declaration of intent, you also apply for the sponsorship prize of 500 euros and then have around three weeks to finalise the content of the project before a jury decides on the ideas submitted.
Last year, the jury was able to assess nine projects. The topics ranged from exploring worlds of sound and developing criteria for playtesters to designing a sculpture. The winning team was the Schule für Lernförderung Altchemnitz and its partner, the Pyrocatharsis e. V. association, which is carrying out the project "Wir machen Zirkus und das richtig" this year. A special prize was awarded to the Radio T team and the Oberschule Am Flughafen secondary school, which carried out the project "Many languages, one world - Hörspektakel" in spring this year.
The "Marketplace Culture & School" concept was developed by the educational initiative Kinder zum Olymp! of the Kulturstiftung der Länder and has already been successfully implemented in several cities in Saxony-Anhalt and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania in addition to Chemnitz.
The project is supported by the Chemnitz regional office of the Saxon Education Agency.
Registration for participation in the "Marketplace Culture & School" is possible until 23 August 2016. Impressions of the last marketplace and more information atwww.kulturelle-bildung-chemnitz.de
