25 years of the Chemnitz/Stelzendorf youth fire brigade

Anniversary celebration on 26 September 2015

The 25th anniversary of the Chemnitz/Stelzendorf youth fire brigade will be celebrated with an event in and around Stelzendorf on 26 September 2015. All youth fire brigades in the city of Chemnitz have been invited to attend. The entire town is planned as a "stage" to familiarise the people of Chemnitz, especially the youngsters, with the topic of "firefighting".

Children and young people will compete against each other in firefighting skills, dexterity and general knowledge with humour and fun. The competition groups will be mixed from all youth fire brigades and age groups, making it easier for them to get to know each other. The event is intended to promote communication between the children and young people and to strengthen the bond between them and the fire brigade.

Programme

The youth fire brigades arrive at the Chemnitz/Stelzendorf Volunteer Fire Brigade's equipment centre at Neukirchner Straße 6a in 09116 Chemnitz at around 8.30 am.

This is followed by a short briefing. From approx. 9 a.m. start of the station operation and march around and in the village. Arrival at the last station and return to the equipment shed at approx. 12 to 12.30 pm. Afterwards, lunch from the goulash cannon and pastime with own experiments in the Futuretruck of the Chemnitz University of Technology and an ambulance of the German Red Cross. After the award ceremony, the event ends at around 2 pm.

There will be a small autumn party in the evening.
