24th SCHLINGEL opens in the opera house
City of Chemnitz awards prize in the International Feature Film category
The International Film Festival for Children and Young Audiences SCHLINGEL starts for the 24th time on Sunday, 6 October at 7 pm. The opening will take place in the Chemnitz Opera House. The Minister President of the Free State of Saxony, Michael Kretschmer, and the Mayor for Education, Youth, Social Affairs, Culture and Sport, Ralph Burghart, will open the SCHLINGEL festival.
During the SCHLINGEL week, 233 films from 52 countries will be screened: including three world premieres, five international, three European and 24 German premieres.
On Tuesday 8 October at 2 pm, Mayor Ralph Burghart will receive the international children's jury in the Green Salon in the town hall. This year's jury members come from France, Austria, Poland, Russia, Sweden, Slovenia, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Germany.
The award ceremony for the 24th SCHLINGEL will take place on Saturday, 12 October at 5.30 pm at the CineStar in the Galerie Roter Turm. The city of Chemnitz will award a prize for the best international feature film, which is endowed with 5,000 euros.
