20th Chemnitz School Theatre Week
Invitation to the press conference on 12 March, 2.30 p.m., Georgius-Agricola-Gymnasium
To get in the mood for the 20th Chemnitz School Theatre Week, Mayor Sven Schulze and General Director of Chemnitz Municipal Theatre, Dr Christoph Dittrich, invite you to a press conference at Georgius-Agricola-Gymnasium next Monday at 2.30 pm. Together they will provide information on the programme for the 20th Chemnitz School Theatre Week. The grammar school's theatre group will also be showing excerpts from the play "Arsen und Spitzenhäubchen".
The 20th Chemnitz School Theatre Week will take place from 18 to 23 March. Nineteen theatre groups will present their plays on the stages of the Schauspielhaus. The participants were selected by a jury consisting of representatives from Chemnitz Municipal Theatre, the Schools and Sports Department and the State Office for Schools and Education. With great courage, commitment and diligence, the pupils take to the theatre stage. With impressive productions, fairy tales, classical plays, musicals and dance, the audience is enchanted by the theatre performances. Theatre groups from Chemnitz's twin cities Ústí nad Labem and Düsseldorf will also be guests.
The 20th Chemnitz School Theatre Week will be opened on Sunday, 18 March 2018,
6 p.m. in the Schauspielhaus, large stage, by Burkhard Heinze, Head of the Chemnitz State Office for Schools and Education, Dr Christoph Dittrich, General Director of Chemnitz Theatre, and Mayor Sven Schulze.
The plays "Rad ab, oder was?" - an in-house production by Class 4 of the BIP Kreativitätsgrundschule Chemnitz and "Von der Macht, es besser zu machen" by the theatre group "Spiel mit Lust" from the Gymnasium Zschopau will be shown.
