2019 funding report published
The 2019 Grants Report of Chemnitz City Council has been published. In it, all city grants to associations, clubs and third parties are presented retrospectively by topic and grant recipient. The grants are funds from the city budget that are approved for purposes that are in the public interest.
For example, projects such as the preparation of the state exhibition of the Saxon Railway Museum, the operation of the socio-cultural centre "Kraftwerk", measures of the city sports association, the expansion of day-care centres for children run by independent organisations, open youth social work as well as projects as part of the Capital of Culture application and support for the PEN annual conference in Chemnitz were implemented.
The report covers a total of 23.7 million euros with around 1000 individual measures. The main focus is on the funding of the Office for Youth and Family Affairs with 11.2 million euros, cultural funding with 3.9 million euros, sports funding with 3.8 million euros and the specialised funding of the Social Welfare Office for Youth, Social Affairs and Health with 2.1 million euros.
