2018 outdoor pool season starts

The Chemnitz outdoor pool season starts next weekend. The two outdoor pools in Gablenz and Bernsdorf invite all water lovers to splash around and swim from Saturday, 12 May 2018. The Einsiedel and Wittgensdorf outdoor pools will open a week later, on 19 May 2018. The Bernsdorf, Einsiedel and Wittgensdorf outdoor pools are expected to close again on 26 August 2018 and the Gablenz outdoor pool on 2 September 2018.

Opening hours of the outdoor pools

Gablenz:12 May to 2 September
Bernsdorf: 12 May to 26 August
Einsiedel:19 May to 26 August
Wittgensdorf: 19 May to 26 August

 

  • Early and late season (outside the summer holidays): daily from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. (possible until 7 p.m. weather permitting)
  • High season (summer holidays from 30 June to 12 August 2018): daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Opening and closing times of the indoor pools

This year, the Gablenz indoor swimming pool will remain open during the summer holidays. The municipal pool, on the other hand, will be closed for the summer due to the continuation of renovation work. On the one hand, the hall lighting in the 50 metre hall will be renewed and, on the other, the large filter technology in both the 50 and 25 metre halls will be completely replaced.

from 4 June to 26 August 2018 - Summer opening hours:

Monday 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Thursdays 2 pm to 9 pm
Sunday9 am to 3 pm


Swimming pool "Am Südring"

  • open from 4 June to 1 July / from 13 August to 26 August only for schools, clubs and courses
  • closed from 2 July to 12 August


City pool (50 m/25 m hall)

  • closed from 11 June to 9 September


Sauna in the municipal pool

  • closed from 11 June to 16 September
