2013 outdoor pool season: almost 112,000 visitors to the four municipal outdoor pools in Chemnitz

The conclusion of the 2013 outdoor pool season is pleasing: Almost 112,000 bathers were counted in the four municipal Chemnitz outdoor pools of Gablenz, Bernsdorf, Einsiedel and Wittgensdorf in the 2013 outdoor pool season, even exceeding the long-term average of 110,000 visitors. The employees of the swimming pool department at the sports office are pleased to report that the people of Chemnitz have remained loyal to their outdoor pools and, thanks to favourable weather conditions, the four outdoor pools have been very popular.

Of the 111,415 bathers counted in the four municipal outdoor pools in Chemnitz, 35,877 visited the Gablenz outdoor pool, 32,732 the Bernsdorf outdoor pool, 28,488 the Wittgensdorf outdoor pool and 14,318 the Einsiedel outdoor pool.
This year, the outdoor pool season in the municipal outdoor pools was extended until 1 September in Bernsdorf and finally until 11 September in Gablenz.

A comparison of the number of bathers: in 2012, 75,937 bathers were counted in Chemnitz's municipal outdoor pools, compared to 69,793 in 2011 and 107,814 in 2010.

The Rabenstein reservoir traditionally remains open until the end of September when the weather is good for swimming. Almost 90,000 bathers have been counted here so far this season. The season ends on Sunday, 13 October with the 16th Chemnitz Kite Festival.
