20,000 euros from the municipal budget for new equipment for facilities and projects

Youth welfare committee decides on investment grants to recognised independent youth welfare organisations

At its meeting yesterday, the Youth Welfare Committee approved the funding of investment measures to improve the equipment of facilities and projects run by independent youth welfare organisations and to replace worn-out equipment and devices: This means that 20,000 euros can be made available from the municipal budget.

The largest grants will go to the AJZ e. V. association for the complete replacement of the kitchen in the children's and youth club of the AJZ with around 4,000 euros, the AIDS-Hilfe Chemnitz e. V. with 3,600 euros for a new kitchen and the EC Jugend Rabenstein with around 2,500 euros for the remodelling of the youth café "Oase 233".

Yesterday's decision also enabled the planned purchase and construction of a wooden pavilion for the Liddy-Ebersberger-Straße football pitch by the AJZ e. V. mobile youth organisation: The project, which many young people have been hoping for, will be supported with 5,000 euros from the municipal budget. This will fulfil a great wish of the young people who regularly meet here on the square: In future, they will also have a sheltered, weather-independent meeting place in the winter months and in rainy weather. The pavilion will be erected together with the young people during the autumn holidays.

The decision also provides financial support to the following organisations: Regenbogenbus e. V. (just under 600 euros), Wildwasser Chemnitz e. V. (600 euros), Chemnitzer Filmwerkstatt e. V. (1,500 euros), Jugendberufshilfe gGmbH (a total of 1,800 euros for various items) and Arthur e. V. (450 euros).
