19th Chemnitz School Theatre Week: Curtain up! Pupils make theatre

Press invitation to the opening and closing events

Preparations for the 19th Chemnitz School Theatre Week are in full swing. From Sunday to Friday, 2 to 7 April, 22 theatre groups from primary, secondary and special schools and grammar schools from Chemnitz and the surrounding regions will present their plays on the stages of the Chemnitz Schauspielhaus.

Children and young people from the Freie Schule Erzgebirgsblick in Gelenau (secondary school) will kick things off on Sunday, 2 April at 6 pm. The young actors will perform the play "Ä Rumäne im Arzgebirg - Rück mer wing zomm!" on the main stage of the theatre. The play is about a school class in the Ore Mountains that receives a new pupil from Romania. He is shunned and not understood. Gradually, the pupils get to know each other, especially through music and dance. Afterwards, pupils from the Lößnitz secondary school tell the story of the ants' lives in a theatre play.

At the closing event on Friday, 7 April at 2 p.m., the pupils will also present work from the individual workshops that took place in the morning on the main stage of the Schauspielhaus

Representatives of the media are cordially invited to both events. Press tickets will be available at the box office in the theatre.
