To mark International Children's Day, the Kraftwerk socio-cultural centre organises a large children's festival on the Küchwaldwiese every year with the support of numerous partners. This year's event is the 17th and is scheduled for Sunday, 2 June from 10 am to 6 pm. Many children are expected to attend with their parents and/or grandparents, friends and relatives. According to the organisers, five activity areas have been prepared, and in the afternoon the programme will again include the presentation of prizes to the winners of the creative competition. Mayor Barbara Ludwig, who is also the patron of the children's festival, will visit the event on Sunday afternoon at around 3 pm.
