15th Chemnitz Reading Advent
City Library: Readings on 1, 8, 15 and 22 December, 5 pm, TIETZ
This year's Reading Advent begins on Thursday, 1 December. The series on four Thursdays in December, each at 5 pm, offers a moment to pause and reflect in the often hectic pre-Christmas period. The venue is the Central Library in the TIETZ. Admission is free of charge.
Personalities from Chemnitz will read texts on the theme of arrival and Advent and will be interviewed by Pastor Stephan Tischendorf about themselves and their current projects. The events are accompanied by music from pupils of the municipal music school.
The dates - Thursdays, 5 pm:
- 1 December, Arna Aley, writer, playwright, musician and first literature scholarship holder of the City of Chemnitz.
- 8 December, Daniel Dost, member of the civil society initiative Die Buntmacher*innen
- 15 December, Dr Ruth Röcher, Chairwoman of the Jewish Community in Chemnitz
- 22 December, Norbert Dechant, Foodsaver (food rescuer), ambassador for Chemnitz in foodsharing e. V.
