150 years of the Grüna volunteer fire brigade: Festive event in the programme of the 750th anniversary celebrations of the present-day Chemnitz district

The comrades of the Grüna volunteer fire brigade are celebrating the 150th anniversary of their brigade as part of the programme for the 750th anniversary celebrations of the current Chemnitz district of Grüna. The anniversary of the volunteer fire brigade will be celebrated with an open event on Friday, 16 August from 6 p.m. in the marquee on Mittelbacher Straße in Grüna, which will also mark the opening of the 750th anniversary week. Mayor Bertold Brehm will give the speech to mark the anniversary of the Grüna FFW.
Representatives of the media are cordially invited to attend.
Representatives of the Saxon State Parliament, the Chemnitz City Council and the local council will also be attending the celebrations. Representatives of the volunteer fire brigades and the professional fire brigade of the city of Chemnitz as well as the Chemnitz City Fire Brigade Association are also invited.
Mayor Bertold Brehm will honour and promote deserving members of the Grüna volunteer fire brigade during the ceremony.
On Saturday,17 August from 10 a. m., the Grüna fire brigade will put on a technical show in addition to other activities on the festival grounds. Members of the youth fire brigade will also be demonstrating their skills with a number of exercises. On Sunday, 18 August , the fire brigade technology will also be on display again from 10 am. At around 2 p.m. , the members of the Grüna volunteer fire brigade will carry out a demonstration exercise at the Sarei company building at Mittelbacher Straße 12: They will simulate a gas cylinder explosion resulting in a fire in which two people are injured and have to be rescued. The cherry picker from fire station 3 of the professional fire brigade and paramedics with ambulances are also involved.
A week later, on Sunday 25 August, the volunteer fire brigade takes part in the Grüna local history association's parade from 1 p.m. with historical and current technology.
