"14-18 WAS SOMETHING. Shot with light"
Exhibition to be shown in the town hall from 5 February
On 5 February at 4.30 pm, the exhibition "14-18 WAR WAS. Shot with Light" will open in the exhibition room of the town hall. Prof Dr Stefan Garsztecki, Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy, welcomes the guests. Prof Dr Andreas Pehnke (Chemnitz/Greifswald) will speak about Wilhelm Lamszus, "Das Menschenschlachthaus" (1912). M. Mert Güney will frame the opening with singing and acoustic guitar.
The exhibition consists of 52 panels, which are exhibited in five stages:
5 to 11 February 2019: | August 1914 to July 1915 |
12 to 18 February 2019: | August 1915 to July 1916 |
19 to 25 February 2019: | August 1916 to July 1917 |
26 to 04 March 2019: | August 1917 to July 1918 |
5 March 2019: | August 1918 to November 1918 |
(On 5 March, the last months of the war will be shown in the exhibition room, the others on the Neumarkt)

Moderated themed talks on war and peace are scheduled at 4.30pm on 12, 19 and 26 February.
On 26 February, Ines Bruhn will share thoughts on "War and art in the context of 14 - 18 was what. Shared memories."
The exhibition will be on display from 5 February to 5 March 2019 in the town hall from Monday to Thursday, 8 am to 6 pm and on Fridays from 8 am to 4 pm. From 11 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. each day, two contact persons from the faculty will be available to provide explanations, answer questions and make suggestions.
