12th Chemnitz company run next Wednesday
Traffic restrictions to safeguard the event
Thousands of running enthusiasts are expected to take part in the 12th Chemnitz company run next Wednesday, 6 September 2017. The organisers are expecting around 8,000 participants and are hoping for corresponding visitor numbers. That would be a new record number of participants.
As last year, Hartmannplatz will serve as the event site. As usual, the starting gun will be fired at 6.30 pm. Due to the ever-increasing number of participants and visitors, the running route has changed slightly compared to last year.
The route is as follows:
Hartmannstraße - Promenadenstraße - Theunertstraße - Schloßstraße - Arndtstraße - Arndtplatz - Promenadenstraße - Erich-Schmidt-Straße - Schloßteichstraße - Promenadenstraße - Arndtplatz - Georgstraße - Mühlenstraße - Hartmannstraße - An der Markthalle - Bierbrücke - Fabrikstraße - Hartmannstraße.
The start area on Hartmannstraße will be fully closed between Schloßstraße and Bergstraße from 4 pm. The car park opposite the police headquarters will be closed from 6 a.m. to secure the set-up work.
According to the attached map, the running route will be completely closed on Wednesday from 5 pm to 9 pm. The event will be secured by the Chemnitz Police Headquarters with operational measures.
For safety reasons, please observe the stopping restrictions along the running route and the instructions of the stewards.
Participants and visitors to the event are also requested to use the city centre car parks and public transport. CVAG will announce any changes to bus and train services separately.
