11th Chemnitz City Run - Information from the traffic authorities

Brückenstraße closed on Sunday (11 May) from 5 a.m. to 4 p.m. between Straße der Nationen and Mühlenstraße

On Sunday (11 May), the 11th Chemnitz City Run is a special event in the annual running calendar for running enthusiasts. The organiser Laufszene Events GmbH is expecting up to 3,000 participants and is also expecting a correspondingly large number of spectators and visitors in the city centre. The start and finish is on Brückenstraße. To ensure that the running event as a whole is a success, the City of Chemnitz traffic authority asks for attention and compliance with the following temporary restrictions:

Due to the set-up and dismantling work associated with the city run, Brückenstraße will be closed in the area between Straße der Nationen and Mühlenstraße on Sunday, 11 May from 5 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Sunday afternoon.

The following additional closures will also be necessary on Sunday to secure the route for participants in the 11th Chemnitz City Run:

- Georgstraße between Mühlenstraße and Promenadenstraße from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.

- Mühlenstraße between Stadtbad and Georgstraße from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

- Promenadenstraße near the Schlossteich crossing area from 9 am to 4 pm.

Resident traffic will be guaranteed on Mühlenstraße.

The Chemnitz Police Headquarters will be on site at traffic hotspots.

Visitors and residents of the city centre are asked to observe the traffic signs indicating possible traffic jams and recommended detours. To get to Chemnitz city centre from the north, we recommend taking Reichsstraße, Zwickauer Straße and Bahnhofstraße or using public transport(www.cvag.de).
