10th European Neighbourhood Festival will be celebrated on the Rosenhof. All Chemnitz residents and guests are invited to spend a colourful European afternoon in Chemnitz city centre. It is organised by the EU Office of the City of Chemnitz and the citizens' initiative Chemnitzer City e.V. together with many local partners and European guests.
Under the motto "Traditions: Old Neighbours - New Neighbours", visitors can look forward to a varied programme with readings, musical performances and hands-on activities. Various actors will present their contributions on stage.
German-Polish poems and Czech poetry can be listened to in the creative café. Here, the neighbours of Chemnitz have the opportunity to exchange ideas over a cup of coffee and get into conversation with each other.
The stands at the Rosenhof also have a European flavour. Visitors can sample the diverse culinary offerings of local organisations. Creative workshops invite young and old to become artistically active and create their own souvenirs to take home, whether through painted figures made from modelling clay or self-designed postcards and hats for the subsequent hat festival.
Archery, a bouncy castle and face painting are available for younger guests. At 5.30 pm, the Neighbours' Festival officially turns into the first Hat Festival with a parade.
