10th Chemnitz Education Market for Sustainability with action days for children and young people at the "Kraftwerk"

Under the motto "Paths to the future - living sustainably", the Chemnitz Environmental Centre, together with the Chemnitz Education Network and supported by cooperation partners, invites you to the 10th 14-day education market for sustainability in Chemnitz. From today until 14 November, the venue will once again be the Kraftwerk socio-cultural centre at Kaßbergstraße 36, where the action days for children and young people and an exhibition to mark the UN Decade of Education for Sustainable Development will focus on the question of which paths lead to a sustainable future in this final year of the decade.

Education Market Coordinator Ingrid Kasiske from the Environmental Centre: "Under the motto 'Paths to the future - living sustainably', we want to talk to children and young people about topics and aspects of a sustainable life. For example, we want to draw attention to the use of regional products and think about the forests and rivers of tomorrow, as well as talk about how to choose food wisely."

Pupils from Chemnitz primary schools have been invited to the power plant on Wednesday (5 November) and pupils from Chemnitz secondary schools on Friday (7 November). On Monday (10 November) and Wednesday (12 November), girls and boys from Chemnitz nurseries will be guests at the Kraftwerk. The events with and for schoolchildren and day-care centre children will take place in the mornings on these days, starting at 8:30 am. A total of around 600 children and young people have registered. Representatives of the media are cordially invited to attend!

The accompanying exhibition "Discover Fairness!" (flyer attached) invites you on a different kind of voyage of discovery: using concrete examples, coordinator Ingrid Kasiske explains, popular outdoor activities such as hiking and climbing are contrasted with the often "adventurous" working conditions of workers in outdoor clothing factories. The travelling exhibition of the INKOTA network and the Clean Clothes Campaign can be visited at the Kraftwerk from 4 to 27 November, Monday to Friday from 9 am to 6 pm. Guided tours for school groups are offered by the Chemnitz World Shop - appointments can be made by calling 0371/ 651 38 80.
