10th Chemnitz company run on Wednesday
Traffic restrictions to safeguard the event
Next Wednesday, 2 September 2015, the city centre of Chemnitz will once again be a sporting hotspot. The organisers are expecting around 6,000 participants for the 10th Chemnitz company run and are hoping for a corresponding number of visitors.
As last year, the start and finish will be on Brückenstraße. The starting gun will sound at 6.30 pm.
The rest of the route runs along Mühlenstraße - Georgstraße - Promenadenstraße - Schloßteichstraßee - Verbindungsweg - Erich-Schmidt-Straße - Promenadenstraße - Arndtplatz - Arndtstraße - Schloßstreet - "Janssenbrücke" - pavement Stumpf Brückenstraße - Theaterstraße - Webergasse - Jakobikirchplatz - Markt Jakobikirchplatz - Markt - Neumarkt - Richard-Möbius-Straße - Am Wall - Straße der Nationen - Brückenstraße.
Due to the ever-increasing demand for the company run, the following traffic restrictions will be necessary to safeguard the event:
Brückenstraße between Straße der Nationen and Theaterstraße will be fully closed from 8.00 am to 10.15 pm.
To secure the running route, Theaterstraße between Hartmannstraße and Brückenstraße (in the direction of Mühlenstraße), Mühlenstraße between Brückenstraße and Georgstraße, Georgstraße between Mühlenstraße and Promenstraße will be closed.e between Mühlenstraße and Promenadenstraße, Schloßstraße between Theunertstraße and Georgstraße and Promenadenstraße between Erich-Schmidt-Straße and Müllerstraße will be closed from 18.00 to 19.45 hrs. Local traffic will be guaranteed.
Schloßteichstraße will be used as a one-way street (in the direction of Bergstraße) from Promenadenstraße to Bergstraße from 6.00 pm to 7.45 pm.
The closures on the running route will be opened immediately after the end of the run (approx. 7.45 pm), the closure of Brückenstraße is planned until 10.15 pm.
The event will be secured by the Chemnitz Police Department with operational measures.
CVAG will announce any changes to bus and train services separately.
