You can see this for yourself on the 110th International Women's Day, 8 March, from 8 p.m. in Chemnitz: the network of Chemnitz women's initiatives and the City of Chemnitz's Equal Opportunities Officer will be broadcasting the "SHOW WITH WOMEN" live from the European Capital of Culture 2025 to all living rooms.
It features women who make art, women who have an opinion and women with a sense of humour. The European Capital of Culture 2025 is showing its best side. The artists will be there:

- UNITY choir // Lila Villa - short film
- Jung&Jung - puppet theatre
- ... and much more!
Gabi Reinhardt will present the "SHOW WITH WOMEN".
The colourful evening was broadcast live from Exil No. 5 at Zieschestraße 41 on the YouTube channel of the City of Chemnitz and here on www.chemnitz.de/frauentag.
Background:
What has made International Women's Day on 8 March so special for 110 years is that women take to the streets and squares and make their demands loudly, that women's political commitment is made visible, that we meet and celebrate at cultural events, panel discussions and public events of all kinds. We can't do all that this year. Nevertheless, we need International Women's Day more urgently than ever.
At the moment, we are in a state of emergency due to corona, which makes existing gender inequalities all the more visible. First and foremost, it is women who are holding our society together in this crisis. But despite all their achievements, whether in systemically relevant professions or in their private lives, it is already clear that women are losing out on the measures to mitigate the consequences of the crisis.
On the occasion of International Women's Day, the women of the Chemnitz Women's Initiative Network are calling on politicians, in particular the elected representatives from all Chemnitz constituencies, to ensure gender-equitable policies in the state and federal parliaments and to ensure that
- a minimum short-time working allowance is introduced,
- family and care work is socially recognised as "work",
- caring professions are better paid,
- domestic violence is outlawed and combated.
