Open Health Office Day
Diversity for health: "Open Health Office Day 2026" attracts numerous Chemnitz residents
Health has many facets - and it was precisely this diversity that was the focus of the "Open Health Office Day" organised by the City of Chemnitz's Office for Health and Prevention on Saturday, 21 March 2026. Under the motto "Diversity for Health", the office showcased the wide range of its tasks, services and advisory services and gave visitors a vivid insight into the work of the public health service. The event took place in the premises of the Chemnitz Adult Education Centre in the TIETZ due to renovation work.
Numerous Chemnitz residents took advantage of this opportunity and experienced a varied programme of information, advice and interactive hands-on activities for young and old.
In the area of infection protection, everyday health risks such as ticks, lice and scabies were clearly explained and practical tips on prevention and treatment were given. Interactive offers such as the presentation of the spread of germs under black light or a "symptom hunt" invited visitors to join in.
The paediatric and adolescent medical service offered a special highlight for children with a lovingly designed hands-on programme. Cuddly toys were examined in the teddy clinic, while various games and handicrafts as well as activities on dental health generated a great deal of enthusiasm.
The programme also focused on prevention and health promotion: at the healthy breakfast and the popular smoothie bike, visitors were able to experience how nutrition and exercise interact in everyday life. The programme was complemented by exercise stations for children and ideas for more activity in everyday life.
In addition, various specialist departments provided information about their support services - from help for families and babies to counselling services in the field of social psychiatry. Hands-on activities such as intoxication goggles vividly illustrated health issues.
The day was rounded off with presentations and workshops that offered practical insights and valuable tips for everyday life. For the youngest guests, a children's rally with small tasks and a final gift provided additional fun.
The Office for Health and Prevention would like to thank all participants and guests for a successful day of action!
