Family Council network meeting
21 to 22 October 2025 in Chemnitz
The 18th Family Council Network Meeting in Chemnitz offers a platform for supra-regional professional exchange, networking and further development of the implementation of the Family Council in practice. The network meeting will focus on a comprehensive review of various approaches and structural framework conditions as well as a continuation of the discussion on the adopted standards. In addition, the importance of the family council will be highlighted with regard to the upcoming reform of the Child and Youth Welfare Act towards inclusive practice. The aim is also to raise awareness of the family council as an instrument of participatory help planning in the region and to provide stakeholders, such as youth welfare offices or help-providing organisations, with impetus for practical implementation on the ground.
With three keynote speeches, twelve workshops, a panel discussion, a meeting forum and an evening event, the conference programme aims to create space for an intensive exchange of ideas.
The event is being planned by the Chemnitz-based organisation Kinder-, Jugend- und Familienhilfe e. V., the Mittweida University of Applied Sciences, the Breitenbrunn Academy of Studies and the Chemnitz Youth Welfare Office.
