Career guidance projects

Chemnitz Chamber of Crafts

The exciting process of career guidance begins in year 7. The project focuses on pupils taking their first steps towards choosing a career - discovering and experiencing the world of work step by step.

This creates initial contacts with the regional economy. The aim is to arouse young people's curiosity about the world of work through practical work samples, workshops and other career guidance programmes. They have the opportunity to experiment, test themselves and experience their topics in various workshops.

This project is funded by the European Social Fund (ESF) and the Free State of Saxony.

Project: ChemBoNetPlus - Chemnitz Careers Orientation Network

Building on the experience gained in Year 7 and the results of the potential analysis, the strengths and weaknesses of each individual are identified. On this basis, the young people in Year 8 are given the opportunity to gain two weeks of practical experience in four job-specific work samples in corresponding specialised workshops.

By the end of year 8, the young people are in a position to say a little more about themselves and their skills. Through in-depth insights into the occupational fields, they have gained important information for their concrete career choice.
