Short description:
Neue Arbeit Chemnitz e.V. follows the idea of an association and has formed a community of interest based on solidarity since the fall of the Berlin Wall. Its strength comes from the diversity and power of the community. In order to strengthen the local community, the association is keen to promote networking between the city's population and important institutions.
The primary aim is to support the unemployed, people of non-German origin and those seeking help and to offer them assistance to help themselves. Social counselling on all social issues is not only gratefully accepted by socially disadvantaged population groups. The five drop-in centres are a hive of activity and a meeting place every day. Appropriate services are provided and projects, further training and sports and leisure activities are organised.
The organisation also carries out lobbying work and advocates for the needs of the unemployed.
The Neue Arbeit Chemnitz e.V. association is an integral part of various networks within the city of Chemnitz. The focus of its work is on neighbourhood-specific projects. The association has expanded the focus of its activities from social counselling and has also established sustainable footholds in district and community work, care support and mediation activities for new residents and people with a migration background in Chemnitz.
