Short description:

Marianne Brandt - born in Chemnitz in 1893, died in 1983 - was one of the few women to come to prominence at the Bauhaus in Weimar and Dessau. Among other things, she designed the iconic tea infuser and timeless Bauhaus lamps, some of which are still in production today.

The Marianne Brandt Society was founded in 1999 with the aim of collecting and preserving the intellectual heritage and artistic work of Marianne Brandt as a designer in the Bauhaus environment and relating it to today's social developments and trends in design.

The exhibition shows works by Marianne Brandt and other Bauhaus artists, accompanied by a specialised library.
Open Tuesday and Thursday from 3pm to 6pm and every 1st Saturday of the month from 10am to 1pm.
Admission is free.
