Short description:
The DLRG is the largest voluntary water rescue organisation in the world. The primary task of the DLRG is to create and promote all facilities and measures that serve to combat drowning. Three main areas of responsibility can be derived from this:
- Education about dangers in and around water,
- Training swimmers and lifeguards
- Safeguarding bodies of water.
The Chemnitz local group was founded in 2015 and has been involved in lifeguard training ever since, as well as swimming training for children and adults for several years.
