Short description:
Since 1992, the ‘Days of Jewish Culture’ (TdjK) have been held annually in Chemnitz as a festival.
A defining feature of Chemnitz is the creative collaboration between a wide variety of partners from across the city in organising the festival. The aim is to recognise Jewish culture and festivals as part of the city’s cultural life and to see them as an enrichment.
The well-established network of participating partners, the wide variety of event formats and the broad range of content ensure that, alongside tried-and-tested formats such as concerts, readings, lectures, exhibitions, films and gatherings, the TdjK continues to evolve through inspiring experiments such as the Jewish-Muslim family festival ‘Shalom Habibi’ or events tailored to young people.
