"Learning to believe means learning to live!" This is the motto under which the Catholic Deanery Youth is involved in youth work in Chemnitz and the surrounding area.
Characteristics of Catholic youth work:
Voluntariness
The young people take part in the group programmes voluntarily. They choose the intensity of their involvement in the group themselves. Leadership functions are prepared and accompanied by offers from the deanery and diocesan pastoral care.
Democracy
The young people choose their own leaders in a democratic process. They decide on the selection of goals and programme items in the group.
Self-organisation
Young people help to organise the content and structures of youth work according to their possibilities.
