The Wanderer Werke site
The redevelopment of the site of the historically significant Wanderer-Werke is an important goal of economic development for the coming years. Embedded in the "Zwickauer Straße" redevelopment area, it offers a great opportunity to honour the history and historical significance of the site and at the same time make a contribution to urban development.
The aim is to create a mixed-use quarter with residential, commercial and cultural facilities, integrated into a green area of around 59,500 square metres. However, it is also conceivable that the site could be linked to industrial culture tourism: Exhibitions, guided tours and events can be organised to bring visitors closer to the history of the Wanderer-Werke.
When developing the site, sustainability, monument protection and integration into the Zwickauer Strasse area will be taken into account in order to respect the history and identity of the site and at the same time create new opportunities for growth and innovation.
Since this year, the urban planning office, the heritage authority and the business division have been holding more talks with the various owners about the revitalisation.
