On 19 May 2004, the city council adopted the cultural development plan for the city of Chemnitz. On 169 pages, the Department of Culture presents the focal points of cultural development up to 2012 <a href="http://www.chemnitz.de/chemnitz/de/kultur_und_freizeit/kulturfoerderung/kulturentwicklungsplan.
