Tree felling at the Pleißenbach

Action is required to widen the Pleißenbach at Rudolf-Krahl-Straße
+

From 26 October, trees on the southern bank of the Pleißenbach, towards the town centre from the junction with Rudolf-Krahl-Straße, will be felled. This is necessary as the previously built-up riverbank is also being widened at this point.

A total of 38 deciduous trees of various sizes and 20 spruce trees will be felled. The spruce brushwood recovered during this process will be reused on site to construct ‘Totfaschinen’ (cylindrical bundles of non-sprouting deciduous or coniferous wood) for bank stabilisation along the Pleißenbach.

The work will take place immediately prior to the completion of the ‘New Pleißenbach Green Corridor – BA 2.1’ project and will be carried out by Phönix-Bau GmbH of Aue-Bad Schlema.
