Tram in the colours of the Esse

Chemnitzer Verkehrs-AG (CVAG) and eins energie in sachsen are bringing the colourful chimney to the tracks: with a tram whose new design is based on the artwork ‘7 Colours for a Chimney’ by the artist Daniel Buren. As well as the paintwork and decals, this Chemnitz landmark – visible from afar – is also reflected in the tram’s interior, as the seat covers have likewise been
matched to its colours.
To further emphasise the connection to Chemnitz, there is a special feature in the colour scheme: for both shades of blue appearing in the artwork, CVAG and eins have chosen sky blue. That is why there are ‘only’ six different colours to be found both on the outside and inside.
