Julia Ackermann, Yara Fay Riefstahl and Lise Seidel have today been entered into the City of Chemnitz’s Golden Book of Sport. The three athletes from the Schwimmclub Chemnitz von 1892 e. V. were honoured at the Stadtbad Chemnitz for their outstanding sporting achievements.
Three female swimmers from Chemnitz featured in the Golden Book of Sport
Julia Ackermann won gold with the German mixed relay team in open-water swimming at the 2026 European Swimming Championships in Paris.
Yara Fay Riefstahl and Lise Seidel were honoured as outstanding young athletes. Both have achieved numerous successes at national and, in some cases, international youth level, and also took part in the European Swimming Championships in Paris.
Mayor Dagmar Ruscheinsky attended the ceremony on behalf of the city. Also present were representatives from the Chemnitz Swimming Club of 1892 e. V., the City Sports Association and the Olympic Training Centre.
By entering their names in the Golden Book of Sport, the city of Chemnitz recognises exceptional sporting achievements.
