With ten nominations, they came second in the survey among German theatres – just behind the Münchner Kammerspiele.
Particularly pleasing: all five genres – opera, drama, ballet, puppet theatre and the philharmonic orchestra – are represented.
Topping the survey in the musical theatre category is the Chemnitz Opera premiere of *Rummelplatz* by Ludger Vollmer. Other productions receiving mentions included *Reineke Fuchs*, *Der Bajazzo*, *Odyssee in C* and *Wir werden nachkommen*.
For the annual survey, 61 critics cast around 500 individual votes for the 2025/26 season.
Outlook:
Some of the award-winning productions will return in the new season: *Reineke Fuchs* on 27 August at the Spinnbau and *Rummelplatz* from 3 October at the Opera House – tickets are available for both.
