The survey is part of the "Security and Crime in Germany" study conducted by the Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA) and the police forces of the federal states.
Nationwide, more than 200,000 people aged 16 and over receive a questionnaire by post. The Saxon part of the SKiD survey is carried out by the BKA in cooperation with the Saxon Institute for Police and Security Research, which acts as a local contact, supervises a state-specific question module for the Free State of Saxony and carries out its own analyses.
The aim of the population survey is to gain comprehensive insights into the development of crime, people's own experiences as victims, their sense of security and their experiences with the police.
The more people take part in the survey, the more meaningful the results will be.
