State harvest festival 2027 in the Ore Mountains
State Minister Regina Kraushaar officially announced last week at the Klaffenbach moated castle that the municipality of Neukirchen/Erzgebirge will be organising the festival in cooperation with the Klaffenbach district, the first time that two municipal partners have jointly hosted the event.
<p<p>The collaboration builds on a historically grown connection between the towns, including via castle and manor structures. Today, Neukirchen/Erzgebirge and Klaffenbach belong to different municipal levels. In 2027, they will consciously join forces as an urban-rural interface and as a bridge between the urban environment and rural identity. The State Harvest Festival therefore also stands for cooperation and regional development. Both partners are involved in the Capital of Culture region, including via the Netz-Werk/Makerhub and as part of the Purpel Path.
Regina Kraushaar, patron of the State Harvest Festival, emphasised: "The State Harvest Festival is a festival by and for all those people who support our home in rural areas - in agriculture, crafts, associations and voluntary work. At the same time, it is a festival for all citizens of the Free State who appreciate rural areas and their many advantages. It is a great honour for me as Minister for Rural Areas to be the patron of this event.
I am delighted that Neukirchen and Klaffenbach will be jointly organising the event next year and can show how much strength there is in this region of the Ore Mountains. This collaboration sends a clear signal: success lies in working together. Local boundaries lose their significance and local people can benefit."
<p<p>The Saxon State Harvest Festival has been organised annually at different locations in Saxony since 1998. The respective host city is responsible for the organisation and implementation of the Saxon State Harvest Festival. It receives support from the Sächsische Landeskuratorium Ländlicher Raum e. V. (SLK). The State Harvest Festival is co-financed by funds from the Free State of Saxony on the basis of the budget approved by the Saxon State Parliament.

Neukirchen has a population of around 6,900 and is characterised by its diverse community life and strong volunteer commitment. It has experience in organising events, including the Floriansfest, which takes place every three years, and the traditional apple festival in September.
Klaffenbach has been a district of Chemnitz since 1997 and has a population of around 2,300. The district is an established tourist destination. The Klaffenbach moated castle, which is operated by C3 Chemnitzer Veranstaltungszentren GmbH, is a central event venue.</p
