Starting a business in Chemnitz: A strong ecosystem for new ideas

For 20 years, SAXEED has been supporting start-ups originating from universities in south-west Saxony.

More than 1,000 start-up projects and over 600 companies that have emerged from them demonstrate just how successfully the regional start-up ecosystem has developed. The Economic Development Agency was also present at the anniversary celebrations on 15 September in Chemnitz – as a long-standing partner and supporter of the network.

What makes Chemnitz attractive to founders? Affordable residential, office, laboratory and production space ensures that start-up capital lasts longer. At the same time, at Chemnitz University of Technology and the Fraunhofer Institutes, research and future technologies meet a strong industrial base. Short distances to talent, technology companies and potential partners create the right conditions for turning ideas into marketable products.

Start-ups receive excellent support from the Start-up Advisory Network: expert contacts from the worlds of business, science and finance guide start-up projects and facilitate suitable connections.
