Multifaceted street art for the 9th HUTFESTIVAL 2026
The 9th HUTFESTIVAL - the festival of street art - will transform the alleyways and squares in Chemnitz city centre into a large open-air stage from 29 to 31 May 2026 with live music, clowning, artistry, juggling, fire shows, imaginative walk acts, art and street food.
With diverse street artists and acts from eight nations (including Belgium, Germany, Estonia, Italy, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Spain and Japan), including artists and ensembles from Chemnitz, the festival promises a spectacle full of surprises, amazement and magic. On eight stages and numerous other activity areas, visitors can discover funny, entertaining, touching, artistic and culinary delights. The three-day spectacle opens on Friday from 17:00 on the Sombrero stage on Neumarkt.
<p<p>A market of beautiful things with selected products and unique items invites you to browse and shop. Jewellery, clothing, home decorations and accessories - including numerous hats - will make art and design lovers' hearts beat faster. The hat is one of the festival's trademarks. In previous years, festival visitors have worn many funny, extravagant, self-designed and decorated hats. A photo exhibition in the Roter Turm gallery and on screens on the festival site shows some creative hat creations.
