The Long Night of Apprenticeships is an initiative organised by Industrieverein Sachsen 1828 e. V. It offers practical insights into apprenticeship and degree programmes through discussions with apprentices. School pupils also have the chance to try things out for themselves.
The City of Chemnitz is once again taking part this year and will be presenting its apprenticeship and degree programmes at the Town Hall. Apprentices and staff will be on hand that evening from 4 pm to 8 pm to answer questions and hold personal discussions. Outside the entrance to the Town Hall, the fire brigade and the city’s public order service will demonstrate the demands of their day-to-day work. Inside the Town Hall, on two floors, other staff members will be presenting their professions. Together with their parents or other accompanying adults, school pupils can find out about the wide range of career paths available within the city administration. The application period for apprenticeships and study opportunities offered by the City of Chemnitz is already open: all the information and the application portal can be found at www.chemnitz.de/ausbildung.
