Greetings from Chemnitz

Last week, former Chemnitz journalist Bernd Rippert sent greetings from the city of Chemnitz whilst on his trip through Finland.

These consisted of an official letter from Lord Mayor Sven Schulze and the 20-euro collector’s coin ‘Chemnitz –
European Capital of Culture 2025’, which was issued last year.

In the twin city of Tampere, he presented them to Deputy Mayor Johanna Kirjavainen, and in Oulu, the European Capital of Culture 2026, to Mayor Ari Alatossava and Lauri Nikula, Chair of the City Council.
