Four ESC construction projects begin

On 2 March, four coordinated construction measures of the waste management company of the city of Chemnitz (ESC) will start.

Gießerstraße from Markusstraße to Zietenstraße

In Gießerstraße from Markusstraße to Zietenstraße, the sewerage system including the connecting sewers is being renovated. The City of Chemnitz Traffic and Civil Engineering Department will then renew the carriageway. Gießerstraße will be fully closed in sections. Access to neighbouring properties will remain possible with restrictions. The work should be completed by the beginning of October. The ESC and the City of Chemnitz Transport and Civil Engineering Department are investing a total of around 713,000 euros. The work is being carried out by ATS Chemnitz, Asphalt-, Tief- und Straßenbau GmbH from Chemnitz.

Hohe Straße from Gerichtsstraße to Kaßbergauffahrt/Weststraße

In Hohe Straße from Gerichtsstraße to Kaßbergauffahrt/Weststraße, the sewerage system including the connecting sewers is being renovated. At the same time, eins energie in sachsen GmbH & Co KG (eins) is renewing the drinking water pipeline. Once the civil engineering work is complete, the road will be resurfaced by the City of Chemnitz Traffic and Civil Engineering Department. For the duration of the construction work, Hohe Straße will be fully closed to vehicle traffic in this section. Diversions and access to the properties will depend on the progress of the construction work and the respective location of the construction site. Access to neighbouring properties will remain restricted. Work will begin at the junction with Gerichtsstraße and continue to the Kaßbergauffahrt/Weststraße junction. Completion is scheduled for mid-November. The ESC, the City of Chemnitz Traffic and Civil Engineering Department and eins are jointly investing around 1.4 million euros. The company Fachcenter Garten + STL-Bau GmbH from Heinsdorfergrund is carrying out the work.

Rudolf-Krahl-Straße from Berganger to Flemmingstraße

In Rudolf-Krahl-Straße from Berganger to Flemmingstraße, the combined sewerage system including the connecting sewers is being renewed. In the extended intersection area to Flemmingstraße and Berganger, eins is replacing the drinking water pipework including the house connection pipes in the public area. In addition, the road drains and connecting pipes are being renewed on behalf of the traffic and civil engineering department. After completion, the carriageway will be completely renewed, the kerbs will be renewed in some areas and a bus stop will be made barrier-free. The construction work will be carried out with full road closures in sections. Access to properties will be restricted depending on the progress of the work and traffic routing, but pedestrian access will be guaranteed at all times. Completion is scheduled for the end of October. The ESC, the transport and civil engineering department of the city of Chemnitz and Eins are investing a total of around 1.2 million euros. The company ATS Chemnitz, Asphalt-, Tief- und Straßenbau GmbH from Chemnitz is carrying out the work.

Marschnerstraße from Händelstraße to Gluckstraße

In Marschnerstraße from Händelstraße to Gluckstraße, the sewerage system including the connecting sewers is being renovated on behalf of the ESC. The City of Chemnitz Traffic and Civil Engineering Office is renewing the road drainage system. Händelstrasse and Marschnerstrasse will be fully closed in sections for this. Access to neighbouring properties will remain possible with restrictions. Completion is scheduled for the end of July. The ESC and the City of Chemnitz Transport and Civil Engineering Department are investing around 535,000 euros together. The company Dietmar Mothes GmbH from Chemnitz is carrying out the work.
