On Monday, Mayor Knut Kunze and the Head of the Fire Service, René Kraus, once again honoured deserving members of the volunteer fire brigades. The ceremonial event, to which the honourees and their families were invited, took place in the City Council Chamber at the Town Hall.
Every year in November, the commendable work of members of the volunteer fire brigades and the civil protection service in Chemnitz is given special recognition. This year, 34 members of the volunteer fire brigades were honoured for their many years of dedicated voluntary service.
