Company Run on 2 September: Traffic restrictions in the city centre
The event kicks off at 5.45 pm.
Running route
Am Wall – Webergasse – Theaterstraße – Hartmannstraße – Schloßstraße – Arndtstraße – Arndtplatz – Promenadenstraße – Schloßteichstraße – Schloßstraße – Schloßteichpark – Erich-Schmidt-Straße - Promenadenstraße - Theunertstraße - Schloßstraße - Hartmannstraße - Fabrikstraße - Bierbrücke - An der Markthalle - Hartmannstraße - Theaterstraße - Webergasse - Jakobikirchplatz - Innere Klosterstraße - Rosenhof
Road closures
As shown on the attached map, the race route will be completely closed from 5.00 pm until approximately 8.30 pm. Set-up work will begin as early as 3.00 pm, so restrictions are to be expected from that time onwards.
The event will be secured by the Chemnitz Police Department through operational measures.
Due to construction work taking place in parallel with Stage 4 of the Chemnitz Model, Chemnitz city centre in particular is facing a special situation which will affect private transport.
Road users who do not need to travel into the centre of Chemnitz are advised to give the city centre a wide berth.
One possible route for a long-distance bypass is: Leipziger Straße – Reichsstraße – Gustav-Freytag-Straße – Ritterstraße – Zschopauer Straße – Bahnhofstraße – Waisenstraße – Dresdner Straße – August-Bebel-Straße – Müllerstraße
No-stopping zones and event stewards
For safety reasons, no-stopping zones will be in place along the running route; these must be observed. Participants are asked to follow the instructions of the stewards.
Resident parking permits
To enable the use of other public parking areas not subject to no-stopping zones, all holders of a resident parking permit for Zones A, B and C are temporarily permitted to park in zones other than those specified on their permit between 2 September 2026, 12 noon – 3 September 2026, 10.00, to park in zones other than those specified on their permit. No separate action is required from holders of resident parking permits in this regard.
Getting there and parking facilities
Participants and visitors to the event are asked to use the city centre car parks and public transport.
As the ‘Roter Turm’ underground car park and the ‘Rathaus Passagen’ multi-storey car park are both situated on the Chemnitz Model construction site and along the route of the Chemnitz Company Run, it will not be possible to enter either of these facilities for the entire duration of the event. An exit route will be available at all times, leading via the forecourt of the former ‘Hotel Congress’ towards Brückenstraße.
Due to the ongoing construction work on the Chemnitz Model and the safety cordons in place for the company run, it will not be possible to enter the cul-de-sac on Brückenstraße for the entire duration of the event. It will be possible to exit at any time via the Mühlenstraße/Brückenstraße junction.
Local public transport
The CVAG will announce any changes to public transport services due to the road closures separately.
